| Compliance and Accreditation
SCRL is committed to meeting the
highest professional standards in the clinical laboratory industry.
Extensive certifications require the lab to adopt stringent Quality
Assurance protocols, undergo periodic split sample testing, and stand
physical examination on a regular basis.
SCRL is enrolled in
two proficiency testing systems, namely the College of American Pathologists
(CAP) and American Association of Bioanalysts (MB). We also recently moved
into a new multi-million dollar state of the art 12,500 square foot facility
located in central Orange County to provide the best possible services to
our clients and patients.
Medicare
SCRL fully supports federal regulations to enforce financial and
professional integrity and to ensure that tests ordered under federal or
state reimbursement meet the standards of "medical necessity."
All claims submitted to Medicare/Medicaid for SCRL services must
be for tests that are medically necessary. "Medically necessary" is defined
as a test or procedure that is reasonable and necessary for the diagnosis or
treatment of illness or injury or to improve the functioning of a malformed
body member. Consequently, tests performed for screening purposes will not
be reimbursed by the Medicare program. Physicians may deem it medically
necessary to order a single test or a portion of a profile.
Educational materials include the following disclaimer to remind readers
that our materials do not prescribe treatment or determine diagnosis: "This
